Elder Jeddy Bennett

So, started out the week a-okay. Gilmore got his haircut to fix the bowl, and then we played b-ball for like an hour, I'm doing my best to sauce on people. And then... WE PLAYED ULTIMATE FRISBEE!!! Man that was fun, and I would say I was defensive MVP. My district beat Sam's, so we're the alpha district. Read a bunch of saints for study time, and the revelation to Heber Kimball, during the persecution of the saints in Missouri, touched me, "Remember that I'm always with you, even to the end. My spirit shall be in your heart to teach you the peaceable things of the kingdom." Then we went outside and talked while watching the lightning and rain storm. I love the rain.  Memorized Mosiah 7:33, and it was revelation, cool to see the different ways God answers our prayers.  So, the 19th is a day of tragedy in Mexico because of the huge earthquake. Well, started the week out strong fellas. Memorized 2 nephi 31:20 in Spanish and then Moroni 7:33 in English, both beast scriptures. We balled up for like 2.5 hours, we did a district v district game (mine vs sam) and 9A TOOK THE DUB (my district) so pretty much we're NBA material.  We had a birthday party for Elder Tuckett and Elder Salazar. It was going so good, and we were having tons of fun. But Elder Moody came out and told us we weren't inviting the spirit. So we calmed down, and turned on Let it Be by the Beatles, and we were told by our DL to turn that off to respect Moody. we did, so party died, but Gilmore decided to chug a rootbeer. It ended up all over him, and he threw up outside. Remember fellas, even as a missionary, you're still allowed to have fun. God wants to see you happy, I can testify and promise you that.  So Blackham flipped his lid. We were doing our service project (which was hilarious because we were sweeping water, yes I said that right) and ...

Well ladies and gents, we got to go to the temple. What a way to start out the week. The spirit in the celestial room is absolutely amazing, I love it there!!! I also got 2 pretty cool sock ties, so life is good. We came back, and had a way cool discussion about the bible, pearl of great price, and just the incomprehensible things you learn in the scriptures, such as Moses seeing worlds without number, and seeing every person that is and will inhabit this earth. Then we ended the day with some nice nutella sandwiches.  We went through an english fast on Thursday, and that was actually kind of fun. Made me feel good to know my Spanish vocab wasn't completely awful. 2 missionaries told me my shorts were too short during our service project and I was just a little bit butthurt, lol, if there's no underwear popping out, I'm all good. Memorized Alma 17:11 and I'm doing good. I finally got to play the piano since our district was practicing for our musical number. DUDE, WE ...

So, my week has been pretty dang amazing, I gotta say y'all, it was good. So literally right at the end of our p-day, we had a huge testimony meeting with our district for study time. The spirit was so strong there, we definitely got some criers, but I love my district man, they're the flipping best. My roommates all think I'm in love with hermana cottrall but it's just because I'm actually nice to her, lol. We added some more decorations to our room. A plastic red christmas tree, an evacuation sign, and a floppy disk that we all signed. Our room is amazing, but the cleaning lady said it was too dirty, and the spirit couldn't dwell in there. I would disagree. That's where I do my best studying. Sam and I have both made a goal to memorize a scripture a day. So I have Moroni 10:3-5, Ether 12:27, 2 Nephi 26:33, Alma 32:21, and 2nd Nephi 2:25 in Spanish. I only started a couple days ago, but it drains my brain We had a devotional this week, with 2 me...

What is up everybody!! I'm almost positive I've had the most wild first week out of anyone in the ccm. My roommates are wild boys. My compañero is Elder Abott, from Boise Idaho, he turns 21 next monday, so we're throwing a big ol party, lol. My other roommates are Elder Bertoch, and Elder Gillmore. Gillmore is hilarious, and is obsessed with birds, I literally have no idea why, but its awesome.  Me, Bryan, and Sam have been partying, and I ran into Akira and Max today, quality dudes, hopefully I'll see them around the CCM more often before I leave, I mean I am only a week in. So to get to this week, First, Gillmore brought a book of 30 bird pictures that we ripped out and hung on our wall, to make it more cozy. Then all our doodles have been taped on our door, and we got a palm tree leaf and duck taped it right above our door.
