ELDER DE HOYOS
HEY HOWDY HEY EVREYONE!!! I have discovered, y es probable que ustedes ya se hayan dado cuenta que yo uso la letra mayúscula demasiado, jaja!
Hope everyone is doing super well!!
This week we had a gira de la mision with our good friends Elder and Sister De Hoyos. President of the area of south america sur. He's a beast! It was so much fun!!
We had our last zone activity, because Covid restrictions have gone back up. So no more meetings in person for church. Luckily we can still go to homes if we've been invited over. I go stir crazy inside, so I have to have as many appointments as possible that are not video calls or calls (i picked that up from Elder Thacker, love that man)
But life is going good!
We had dinner with our friend Gaston! He knows so many missionaries and loves them all! He's going to be baptized when he gets money for divorce and then to get married, so pray for him as he makes his journey!!!
Our friend Juan is an absolute studly stud! He's working on quitting smoking, reading in 2 nephi now, and is trying to sacar un turno para casarse! He wants to be baptized and tells us of all the miracles and changes he's seen in his life since he started meeting with us only 2 weeks ago. And maybe it's not all physical, but relationships with family, stress over money, they way he reacts to situations, he has changed completely, and has so much hope, he no longer feels empty! I love Juan so much!
We're also teaching Juan Diaz! What a beast, he wants to serve a mission, and is helping his mom and trying to get his sister to come to the lessons! Pray for him, and he makes these steps!
We finally got to meet with one of the best families ever, the llanos and rodriguez family. And both the parents were there, so we were able to talk to them, and they gave permission for their son Andres to be baptized! He's so excited and just needs to pick a date!! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!
We finally got to go over the Susana, a less active member that I contacted in the street. She told us that she was only going to talk to us if we started the conversation. HABLAR CON TODOS! She says she had been praying to know what to do, and one day every single one of her plans changed, and she ending up running into us! SHE'S AMAZING! And we're going to start teaching her 10 year old daughter and 18 year old son!
Missionary work is absolutely amazing, and I love every second of it. That may sound cheesy or over exaggerated, but you cannot know the sweet until you have tasted bitter. The hard days only make the sweet days even better!
Elder De hoyos spoke of testimony. Alma says the only way he was going to make a change in the hearts of his people was through pure and simple testimony (Alma 4:20) and Paul says that the only way to come to know Christ is through the spirit (1 Cor 12:3). SHARE YOUR TESTIMONY. Thy who gives his life (his testimony) shall find it, but thy who gains the world (outside of his personal testimony) shall lose it. I'm paraphrasing here, but the power of testimony is to be shared. It doesn't need to start with the phrase "I know" but share with someone why you have hope, what helps you day after day, why you chose to have a family, share with them who you are and why! SHARE CHRIST AND CHRIST WILL STRENGTHEN YOU!!
AMA A TODA PERSONA Y A TODA COSA
ELDER BENNETT!!!
