LAST CHRISTMAS, I GAVE YOU MY HEART

SABEN QUE AMIGOS, ME QUEDO AQUÍ CON ELDER THACKER!

Yup, we got transfer news, and we're staying together as Zone Leaders in Tampa! There's a ton of new missionaries in our zone, so we're excited for all of the transfers!

This week was awesome!

-We played pickleball for Elder Holloway's last preparation day. He took off on tuesday and man, that was heartbreaking, WE LOVE ELDER HOLLOWAY!

-We had our last district council of the transfer and our zone is getting shuffled, so that's always fun! Going to miss all the missionaries that were here.

-We had exchanges. I got to hang out with Elder Faletoi! He's teaching me the missionary purpose in tagolic, and there's a Sister who speaks french in the zone, so let's  see how many languages I can get.

-Had exchanges with Elder Lindhart! He's a beast and we did the #lighttheworld of giving out cookies, and had some amazing lessons. Plus I got to do a baptismal interview with the 9 year old boy they're teaching! HE'S A HUGE SEAHAWKS FAN AND LOVES POKEMON, ALL MY NERD POPPED OUT, WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

-We had an awesome zone meeting with President and Sister Hollingsworth. We studied John 6 and then the light of Christ, the importance of it in our society now. Without it, God would cease to be God.

-Our friend Eric had some concerns, so he chose to postpone his baptism, but he still wants to keep going! And he told us when a rocket launch was, so WE WATCHED A ROCKET LAUNCH ON THURSDAY NIGHT, THAT WAS AWESOME!!

-Saturday we had a ward Christmas activity. All the missionaries that use the Carrollwood building got permission to come and we had a missionary choir, so we sang for all the cars that drove through! It was so fun, and just so you all know, I belted 'Last Christmas' by wham at the top of my lungs, it was a hit :)

-Finished off the week with hearing about all the transfer news and Bishop Patel brought us over and fed us huge steaks and twice-baked potatoes (Sorry Sammy, hehehehehehehehe)

One thing that stood out to me, is the concept of hope. What is hope, what does it mean? Hope is not just a random wish, but a desire that allows us to act. As Ether 12:4 says, "Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world" and Alma 34 says, "But that ye have patience, and bear with those afflictions, with a firm hope that ye shall one day rest from all your afflictions" These are desires, that allow us to act, to be the change we want to see in the world, and to find strength during our trials.

This all winds up to the fact that, one of the greatest gifts that came from the birth of Christ is hope. The "good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people" is that Christ was born, and because of that, there is hope in the world. Hope that he can heal us, make us whole, allow us his grace and help us feel peace. Christ gave hope and light to the world, and I invite each of you to #lighttheworld and do the same, share the hope and light that Christ gives you! I promise you're attitude and demeanor this Christmas will change!
