Week 9

Good ol Monday! Today was all about relaxing, oh man, good times! We filmed a juggling video with the sisters, and some good ol lessons! Also, we got on the airforce base, that, was awesome! Unfortunately we're not allowed to take pictures:(, but I got a fantastic haircut, good times! (Got to go on base, so that was super cool)

Tuesday we delivered a Book of Mormon to our friend James (he goes by Brother will) he's super cool and wants to know about when he can come to church, so we're getting him connected to our online church (that's right fellas, we're futuristic)

We were on exchange with Elder Halls, so me and him drank a whole lot of terere (let me tell ya, mate and terere, are the greatest things ever) and we taught our our friend Sidney! Her and sam told us all about their hamster that died, we were laughing so hard (I promise, there's more humor in there than it sounds)

ZONE CONFERENCE!! Zone conference was aweaome!! We read in Genesis 37, 39-41 and DC 121-122! We have to look past the obvious realities just as Joseph (in both scriptures) did! They turned themselves over to God, and allowed themselves to find joy, even in the VERY bleakest of moments! If you're ever feeling down, read DC 121:7-10 and then DC 122:5-8, it's powerful!

Shout out to Gabi! She gave us her famous cookie recipe and THEY ARE AMAZING! We made them on friday, and had some members deliver them to people that we're teaching! Elder Lemone, our AP, joined us for a call, and I learned a ton from that lesson, on how to teach, and how to be firm in who I am and what I believe!

WE GOT OUT OF THE HOUSE/CHURCH!! On saturday we got to help a member family move, so we were on the airforce base all morning long! We're just on a teaching grind, but a lot of it is with members, as we're helping get involved with social media, making it more of a focus here in this mission!

Sunday, we had our online church (which we get to go to in person, hehehe, cheat the system) and Bishop Freestone gave a talk on the atonement, and how as we repent, we can receive even greater personal revelation in our lives! Powerful testimony! The night, we were all exhausted, so we definitely messed up in some lessons, but you live, learn and grow!

This week, my studies were a lot on hope! How we can find hope through bleak circumstances and obvious realities that need to be overcome! Faith is the principle of hope, as we strive to create a better world (Ether 12:4) but faith is a principle of action. If we have questions, concerns, or we want to grow and make a change, we must ACT!! This comes from prayer (Alma 34:17-27) and scripture study (Romans 15:4) these are both acts of repentance as we turn our will to God!

Dieter F. Uchtdorf then explains "Hope is not knowledge, but rather the abiding trust that the Lord will fulfill His promise to us. It is confidence that if we live according to God’s laws and the words of His prophets now, we will receive desired blessings in the future. It is believing and expecting that our prayers will be answered. It is manifest in confidence, optimism, enthusiasm, and patient perseverance."

There is no greater hope than through the atonement, he is the light and life of the world (Mosiah 16:9) and guides us through the darkest parts of life, because he is a light that darkness cannot comprehend (John 1:5)

Make sure to read the Book of mormon, to feel, at a greater amount, God's love for you!
