Monday, oh Monday! What a start to the week everybody :) We had a virtual tour with Tina Ruiz, she's the best, a friend serving in the Historic sites mission, so we were taken around the Book of Mormon publication site! Super cool to see all the work that truly went into publishing the first 5000 copies of the Book of Mormon! Played a "how-well-do-you-know-your-companion" game and if this is anything like the wedding game, man, I'm screwed (but Elder Hughes had only been there for 5 days, so that's why we lost, everyone, agree with me)
On taco tuesday (unfortunately no tacos) we had an intercambio. We got Elder Halls for the day! Bro Ramirez brought us Chipotle, and we MET KENDALL MOTT!! HER AND HER FAMILY ARE THE BEST!! The mom said she wanted to be active in the church again and then we started to call them out of the blue, GOD IS REAL!! I also learned this day that you can truly tell the difference when you teach with or without love for the people! Christ has given us 2 great commandments and both involving loving others! Always have a smile and share it with someone else!
Wednesday was awesome! IT'S ELDER HUGHES' BIRTHDAY!!! HE'S 19!! WOOOOOOO!! We celebrated with giant Pub Sub sandwiches and some yummy cupcakes!! We met Douglas Henderson who FLIPPED OUT (Like, good stuff) when he found I was Elder Bennett because that was the name of the Elder that baptized him (the only difference between the 2 is that he had glasses, both 5' 11" with blonde hair, da heck) and met Wenford, a man with A THICK jamaican accent, but super nice and super funny and loves Jesus Christ with all his heart! Finished with a fun ol video for our Missionary Bingo for our ward!
Well, we're on to Thursday, and this was the day our phones just did not work. It was a lot of study and planning but we ended up having to drive to Carrollwood to do our calls, since our technology chose not to work , good times! We had some super fun lessons, and MARTHA CALLED!! Woooooo, we hadn't heard from her in a while! She did tell us we need to join her Masonic lodge, so no big deal, but I could join the Eastern Star if I wanted to :)
Friday, was a day, just like, you know, the days, but we did spend some time making a priesthood video, that was fun, but I'm no longer accustomed to being in the sun, man I was drained. I taught a spanish class with good ol Elder Holloway, what a guy! I did get hard core bashed over the phone! That caused an awesome spiritual discussion between me and my companions about our testimonies and defending the faith of Jesus Christ!!
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE!!! We made it worth it but doing a cookie drop off, to members and people we're teaching, was freaking awesome! Taught an english class (everyone go look on seguidores de Cristo en Tampa, Elder Hawkes and I are absolutely hilarious) taught Wenford, man, Jamaicans are the best, he was awesome! And we ended the night making our parts for the #passthetag video :)
SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!!! Highlight, we got 2 people to online church and we made heavenly rolls, truly heavenly, man, I had to stop my self from eating all of them (we may have made 48 of them, whoops) but had some awesome lessons and we met Daniel, who's super interested! God rewards effort, so keep on trying and keep on going!! (Also, make heavenly rolls and arepas, so freaking good)
This week, I listened a lot to the talk, "Safety for the soul" (usually in spanish so Seguridad para el Alma) but Jeffrey R Holland's testimony of the Book of Mormon is powerful! The Book of Mormon helps us grow, and come unto Christ unlike any other book! It can explain our purpose, and can give us hope (Ether 12:4) it shows us that all things are possible (Moroni 7:33) and that in the end, we all depend on God, and he invites us all to come and see (2 nephi 26:33, Moroni 4:19) so READ IT!! I PROMISE THAT IF YOU READ IT WITH A SINCERE HEART AND AN OPEN MIND, YOU WILL FEEL PEACE, A CALMNESS THAT CANNOT BE EXPLAINED! That will be the holy ghost testifying to you, the truthfulness of these things and it will guide you to all truth and light!!
MISSIONARY LIFE IS THE ONE FOR ME (Probably just because I'm one hecking weird dude)
-Amen a todas las personas y a todas las cosas
